ARTIST BIO

In 2001 I was given a set of pencils by a friend who I’d known from my teen years. She knew I had put art on hold for about 25 years while I committed to working and raising a family, and she had seen and loved my early art work. This rekindled my passion for art when I reflected on my childhood and remembered fondly spending a lot of my spare time colouring in or drawing cartoon figures.

I quickly found enjoyment in working with pastels and feel connected to the soul of a person when painting portraits. It has been said of my portraits that they evoke empathy and enchantment between the subject and their emotions. Encouraged by my success in creating engaging pastel portraits, I then ventured into oils and landscapes with similar success and enjoyment. By 2002 I began exhibiting in regional art shows throughout the Riverina area, where my work received many awards and I achieved many sales.

I left work in 2009 to pursue my passion in art and it is now a key focus of my day.

Living on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, I enjoy working in our home studio where I can retreat and immerse myself in art. I’m inspired to paint seascapes featuring the many and varied features of Mornington Peninsula’s bayside and oceanic coastal areas.

I love sharing my studio and the surrounding environment with people who want to explore or rekindle their creativity, and I run workshops focussed on empowering people to reconnect with their creative selves.
