Artist’s statement
My interest is in depicting landscape with which I’m familiar – usually the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. I usually work by collecting a range of images on camera, later making a selection on which to base paintings in oil on canvas or board. I look for opportunities to translate the complexity of the undulating Peninsula landscape with its eucalypt and pine trees into broad forms and masses. |
