Jules Baldwin
Born in 1963 in the UK, emigrated to Melbourne in 2001, currently living in Seaford, Melbourne.
Summary
A self taught artist discovering an interest in Art whilst studying Interior Design in the UK (1998-2000). This course enabled Jules to gain a greater understanding of colour, scale and proportion, paint effects and aspects of technical drawing. It was during this time she discovered an interest in collage and fascination with form and abstract art and the philosophy behind it.
Jules has also studied with Margo Vigorito (October – December 2009) who helped her to discover the complexities behind portraiture and application of various different painting techniques.
Jule’s main inspiration is with beauty and raw emotion, this is something she strives to convey in art form. Turner, Cezanne, Matisse, Kandinsky, Rothko, Pollock, Klee, Munch and Van Gogh, amongst many others have been important influences in terms of style and colour theory.

Artists Statement
I have and still continue to search for a way of expressing how a moment in time can be captured, not by painting what I see but how it makes me feel. I truly believe as artists we should have the freedom within to create what it is that truly inspires us, be it physical or emotional, using colour, texture and the music in my heart I continue on my journey to attain this. |
